Feminist Affirmation Room 2017

Memory foam, glitter fleece, cardboard, two channel digital projections, voice recording, and ambient looping soundscape (composed for the work by Luke Jaaniste).

Open House for House Conspiracy’s Cycle 13 residents (Showcase at end of House Conspiracy Residency)
Friday December 29 // 5:00pm – 8:00pm

For the showcase, Vine will be sharing new experimental works that she is developing leading up to her first solo show in mid 2018. She is interested in how could art function as an antidote to the often negative and harmful messages around gender and body in mainstream Australian culture and media. She is engaging in an artistic speculative inquiry into the notion of a  safe space and respite from patriarchy influences. Her darkened room in the house will comprise of projected text (the affirmations to read), soothing soft ambient sound (that envelops you), and abstract soft sculpture (to touch, embrace and rest upon). The artist welcomes you to her space to stay for 5 mins or several hours.
